Game Freezes when Opening Screenshots and Links on Ubuntu

When I  take a screenshot, when opening the screenshot by clicking the link in chat, the screenshot opens and then Minecraft sometimes completely freezes after that happens. This also happens with web links.

I have not had this happen on Windows 10 or Mac OS X - only on Ubuntu.

This seems to only happen in 1.14+.

I have attached a log below, but it does not contain any errors - only normal warnings about ambiguity between arguments which always appear.

After a while the launcher says: Process crashed with exit code 9
