Multiplayer

When I want to play on a multiplayer server, no matter on what server i go on it will say that the server is down for maintenance even though their are more than 70,000 people online at once. This has been happening for the past 1 or 2 years and I tried every solution i could think of. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, Turning off my computer and turning it on again, and restarting Minecraft. I also tried checking my internet connection. Please help me and thank you. It affects all versions of Minecraft and the reason i typed it here is because there is no option for it.
