Rain gaps

Whenever it starts to rain in my world, not all rain particles appear in some chunks. By that i mean like on 50% of a chunk its raining, and on the other 50% it's not. The rain particles even happen to pass through the ground/water. I'm not quite sure if it's a bug or just my word got somehow corrupted, as it also happened in a previous version of the game. (I also experienced this bug in the version 20w17a, which is the same version I created the world in.)
Has this happened to anyone else?
