minecraft not using my dedicated gpu

Hello, i have gotten a new pc and purchased minecraft it has been fun but ive been playing on 12-5- fps, i decided to have a look and find out minecraft is not using my dedicated gpu but my integrated graphics. i have a gtx 1080 and i have tried using the NVIDIA control panel and tinkering with the minecraft java files and setting them to use my dedicated gpu however, it still is not working in game and im still playing on a low fps. it would be amazing if you could help me with this situation. thank you so much
