Momentum does not carry from soul sand when wearing soul speed boots

Not sure if entirely a bug, but momentum does not carry over after jumping while on soul sand while wearing the soul speed boots. If this is intended, it would be great to change it because it would make some interesting parkour features, and is quite frankley annoying when sprint jumping on soul sand/soil.
