Rain particles and sounds appear underground during rain

Rain particles are appearing below ground sporadically. The sound of rain hitting the ground is also present most of the time.

 

What I expected: rain and rain sounds should not appear below the ground.

 

What actually happened: Rain and rain sounds appear sporadically below ground.

 

Steps to reproduce:

Enter caves while raining.

biomes involved: mushroom fields, mushroom shore, cold ocean

video setting: bug appeared with any video setting changes to clouds and graphics
