After unloading a chunk with a lodestone inside and then come back, the lodestone compass will no longer work inside of a player's inventory

The lodestone compass attached to a lodestone in an unloaded chunk acts as though the lodestone is not there, and spins randomly when placed in an inventory slot that is not in your hotbar. Loading the chunk again does not solve the problem, however going into spectator mode does.
