Pillagers, hoglins, piglins, piglin brutes and zoglins would continue pathfinding towards their targets in some circumstances

The bug

Pillagers, hoglins, piglins, brutes or zoglins can sometimes pathfind towards their target in some cases. Trying to avoiding them causes them to pathfind until you stop avoiding them and they'll stop pathfinding.

It affects the following things:

Switching gamemodes
Getting killed by them
Wearing gold armour while a piglin chases you (and then stops being hostile but still pathfinds to you)
