Regular and Lodestone Compass Points to Same Spot

If you have a regular compass and a lodestone compass in your inventory at the same time, they point in the same direction. Whichever one is highlighted on the tool bar seems to choose whether both point at a lodestone or world spawn.

 
Normal compass selected, both point at world spawn.

Lode compass selected, both point at lode.
