Strider turns pale after walking on baby, won't revert

While traversing the lava lake on the back of a strider, I accidentally rode over one of the babies, causing the strider I was riding on to turn pale. I didn't think anything of this at first, until I noticed the strider would no longer go back into the lava, reverting to its normal state. No matter how far into the lake I got, it stayed pale and walked on top of the lava (literally).
