Lodestone compass in item frame does not update after turning

The bug

When placing a lodestone compass in an item frame for the first time, the needle will point into the correct direction (first screenshot). But when turning the item in the frame, the needle keeps its relative position to the compass (second screenshot). When removing and placing the compass it will be in the same orientation as before, including the needle. Only when re-placing the item frame the compass will have the correct orientation again.
