All my worlds got deleted

When the new snapshot was added (the one were you throw the books in the nether portal and it makes a fancy new world) ALL and I mean all of my worlds got deleted. I restarted my laptop, I restarted the application, and no sign of my worlds anywhere. I want my worlds back and I don't want this to happen to me or anyone else in the future so please fix it.
