Blocks placed/ broken are being replaced/ removed

Basically, while I was building in creative mode, blocks that I just placed down were being removed (seemingly randomly) and blocks I was breaking were unbroken.

What I expected to happen was...:

The blocks to stay put.

What actually happened was...:
They would be put back in their previous state (then the proper state, put can be interacted with).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place and break blocks in creative
2. Wait
