Nether Portal animation keeps playing in ESC menu

The Bug

As seen below the differences between 1.15.2 and 20w12a compared to 20w13a is quite big. The animation also continues playing unlike in the previous versions/snapshots.

What happened → Animation stays its purple color and continues playing
What I expected to happen → The color faints and the animation stops playing like in previous versions
