Blocks Turn To Nether Blocks When Left-Clicking After Exiting Nether

One time, when I was playing Minecraft, I exited the Nether and everything I left-clicked on turned to nether-type blocks. I entered the Nether portal again and everything reverted back to normal. I had no mods on whatsoever.
