Trident with loyalty III failed to return after hitting monsters successfully.

What I expected to happen was...:

The trident with loyalty III is supposed to return after it hits a zombie/skeleton/creeper/spider.

What actually happened was...:

The trident with loyalty III didn't return, nor stay in the monster. It just disappeared and doesn't appear after I killed the monster.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new world (gamemode: creative)
2. Get a trident using command.
3. Enchant it by /enchant @s minecraft:loyalty
4.Throw it towards any monster in overworld(for example ,a zombie)
5. The trident hit the monster , and disappeared.
