Crying obsidian cannot be used to create nether portals

Despite being simply another type of obsidian, crying obsidian cannot be used to create a nether portal. Mixtures of obsidian and crying obsidian also cannot be used.

Potentially working as intended but I'd prefer to get mojang confirmation for this.
