Esc and graphics

What actually happened was that i´m playing and when I go to exit the game I pressed Esc and the menu didn´t appear. i don´t know why.

The other prolem is that when I start the game the initial menu appears a little bit different. It´s seems that the texture pack didn´t work correctly, and appear some bits in the buttons. when that happends the minecraft run so slowly. I´m so stressed whit this. please help me. I have the vanilla version. No mods. Anyone.
