Can No Longer Craft Charcoal, All Villagers Are Gone

After getting the new patch update all the charcoal in my chest was gone and that I can no longer craft charcoal I.E. with a furnace and wood cooking wood combination. I also noticed all villagers in the game are completely gone and I cannot find a single one still in the village which used to have 6-7.
