Nether Portals created by the game are always along the z axis regardless of the axis of the portal on the other side

What I expected to happen was...:
Nether portals on the other side should be created on the same axis as the portal on the other side

What actually happened was...:
Nether Portals are only created by the game on the other dimension along the z axis, even if you create a portal along the x axis.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a nether portal in the overworld, make sure the nether portal blocks are along the x axis (axis: x)
2. Go through the portal into the nether
3. Then you will realise that you are facing the obsidian frame of the portal, as the portal had been created along the z axis
