Nether Sprouts Float on Air

Nether sprouts can float in the air when the block beneath them has been destroyed. For whatever reason I cannot attach a screenshot to this post.

Exact experience: while under frequent attack by ghasts, in a warped forest biome in the nether, I was removing warped nylium and the (blue) nether sprouts atop the warped nylium remained floating in the air.
