Unable to place crafting table

What I expected to happen was
I tried placing a crafting table under water in creative.

What actually happened was...:
The table was placed,then disappeared.From then on I wasn't able to place crafting tables.However,after closing then reentering the game everything was normal.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drink an 8-minute night vision potion
2. Dive underwater
3. Try placing a crafting table
