Rain Renders through Wall*

I was using my friends spider farm when I noticed the rain rendered through the wall. Unsure what causes this, my best guess would be something with the sword perfect swing?

I disabled all resource packs I had and it still happened.

*Behind the wall is also a giant mountain.
