Not Dying in Lava in Nether

I was in survival in the warped forest biome when I jumped into some lava to avoid an enderman. What I didn't expect was to live when I jumped in. If this is a bug (which i'm certain it is) then it would make survival in the Nether way too easy as the danger of falling in lava wouldn't be scary. I hope this is fixed soon. Thanks.
