minecraft on nintendo switch not staying logged into microsoft account

we have the game card and purchased the downloaded version of minecraft for nintendo switch. everytime we try to play, we get a box telling us to log in with a microsoft account. then it gives us a box with a code to put in on another device at https:/aka.ms.remoteconnect and we have to do this every single time.
