Mobs get stuck in troughs in spruce villages

Mobs will often get stuck in the troughs made of trapdoors in spruce villages. Once I had to rescue 4 villagers, a cat, and a cow from one by opening the trapdoors. Since I thik mobs cant see trapdoors as a solid block, I don't think they realize they have to jump to get out.
