Animal spawning in amplified worlds

Recently I've gotten a new computer, which can handle crazy amounts of data, so i decided to try an amplified world. i think since snowier snow, the design was also updated, but i didn't know. still marveled by the beauty, i didn't realize but no animals spawned anywhere at all. this was confusing to me so i looked up if this was supposed to be there. the only times I've seen a similar problem resolved is a while ago in 1.8 and 9
