when i play any version of minercarft in multiplayer it just says "scanning for games on you local network" and i can only play with direct connect

when I play multiplayer Minecraft on any version, it keeps saying "scanning for games on your local network". But I will wait for over an hour and it will still be "scanning". Because of this I cant explore and new servers. But I can use direct connect and it workers fine and I can play the servers I directly connect to. If anyone has any information or solutions, please tell me so I can explore more servers. I will attatch an inmage below of me on 1.14, but rest assured it does the same thing for every version
