Game crashes with logentry "Process crashed with exit code -532462766"

When clicking play, the game crashes with this entry in the log

Process crashed with exit code -532462766

 

I'm running latest version of windows 10, fully updated. I have uninstalled minecraft, and deleted the folder 

C:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

prior to installing a fresh 15.1.1
