Potion particles after death and respawn

What I expected to happen was...:
So I died expecting everything to be cleared as I was fighting a witch, didn't expect it to suddenly summon like 10 zombies and other mobs on me suddenly but I got ganked and died. 

What actually happened was...:
I died and the particles never ceased to flow off me. Got annoying after ;-; 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Die? 
2. Get splashed by a witch?
