Junction rail does not change when there is another rail line behind it

If I build a T junction with rails, the curve rail will not change directions if there is another rail line going next to it, like in the picture. 

After placing a minecart on top of the detector rail, the curve should change but it doesn't. 

 

 

If I then remove the rail line going next to the junction, the curve changes normally.
