Bucket falsely fills with water

When I attempted to collect the water from a waterlogged chest, the bucket filled up with water but the chest remained waterlogged. When I went to empty the bucket, the bucket became empty but no water block was generated. The bucket seemed to have falsely filled with water and displayed it was in a filled state when it wasn't.
