Version bug

+Whenever i try to start any of the versions between 1.7-1.8.8  (havent tried any other than those between) the game crashes and i get the error message "The game crashed whilst unexpected error
Error: java.lang.RuntimeException: No OpenGL context found in the current thread."+ 

Starting up minecraft in 1.14.4 works perfectly fine but not the other versions ive tried. I'd really like to be able to fully use the game i have purchased and not have to reinstall the game from my old 2014 backup everytime i want to start it in 1.8 or something around that. 

I just chose that it affects 1.15.1 because it was the only one i could choose
