Returning from certain menus to the main menu using "Esc" no longer changes the splash text

Returning from certain menus (e.g. Singleplayer or Realms menus) back to the main menu using "Esc" no longer changes the splash text, as it did in previous versions of Minecraft. It only works with the Multiplayer and Options menus, the others don't.
