Carpet not producing noise when placed on redstone ore

When I place white carpet on redstone ore, it DOES NOT produce a sound effect. If I place the same carpet on any other block, it DOES produce a noise. As you can see however, if you place the carpet on the redstone block by clicking the carper, it Does produce a sound. It is only a minor bug, but still worth reporting in my opinion.
