You exit boat when it goes underwater

In my underwater base, I have a boat elevator to get up to the surface of the sea. When I enter the boat I get sent off into the water tube and as soon as I hit the water I get thrown off the boat, which however, ascends slowly as intended. Also, if I just let the boat go up itself, everything works fine.
