Delicious Fish achievement is not awarded if a hopper is underneath the furnace

If I "catch and cook a fish" in my furnace (which has hoppers and chests for in put and output), the cooked fish passes through the hopper and appears in the chest, and the achievement is not awarded. I removed the output hopper and tried again, and was awarded the achievement when I removed the cooked fish from the furnace directly.
