Player is pushed off falling blocks when pushed upwards by a piston

If I place a sand block (or any other falling block) on top of a piston facing upwards, and power it, I will fall to the ground if I attempt to stand on the sand.

It is specifically when the piston is unpowered and the sand falls when I fall.

There is a strong likelihood that this is a repeat, but I searched and could not find anything similar to this.
