End City Portal Crashes Game within 10 blocks

If I used an ender pearl of built within ten blocks of the end city portal, it will crash my game. The only way for me to not crash was for my friend to TP me to him as soon as I logged back onto the server. I tried this on a Single Player game and on 1.15 Pre-1 also and it did the same thing.
