Accumulated campfire smoke clouds freeze mid air after an obstacle is removed

When any kind of obstacle is placed a couple of blocks over a campfire, the smoke clouds that accumulated under the obstacle freeze mid air after said obstacle is removed.

After the campfire removal the remainder clouds stay in place a couple of seconds before dissapearing.

It's easier to appreciate the effect with hay bales.
