bees coming out of hives dont make it out unless 2 blocks are in front of the opening

i found bees out of the bee hive and once they went in the can not make it back out, they appear for a second then hop right back in the hive as well as nest. Was playing on seed 1970051719931301086 bee nest near spawn and moved 2 closer into a bee hive and same thing happened. put 2 blocks in front of opening and it began working like normal since they could not access the 2 blocks due to the dirt they starting coming out and going in a different side.
