Birch and jungle saplings don't grow into trees

I found this bug when i planted a ton of birch saplings in the plains and didn't see them grow in trees after more than 5 in-game days. After that I tested every single sapling type in creative mode and the only ones that didn't grow were birch and jungle saplings.
