Snapshot Movement Lag

When placing/destroying blocks or dropping items in the latest snapshot I find myself unable to move for a second. I have a pretty decent processor (i5) and graphics card. If this is just a snapshot thing, i'm really sorry but it is impossible to do anything quickly!
