Birch and Jungle saplings are not growing

As I said before the page deleted everything. Place a birch or jungle sapling anywhere and it won't grow even if you use bone meal in creative mode. Replace the sapling with one of the others and it will grow.

I made sure that there was no tall grass etc near the sapling and even tried it near other birch trees and also tried to replace a birch tree that had been chopped down with a sapling.

Oak, Dark Oak, Acacia and Spruce all work.
