Arrows not shooting more then 2-3 blocks no matter the shot power

(The reason I chose none as the gamemode is because it happens in both creative and survival).
When shooting arrows from a non-enchanted bow, despite the shot strength, arrows shoot no more then 1-3 blocks away from you.
