Rain and snow render through blocks when picking up items or experience orbs

The bug

While the player (or an entity, such as a villager) picks up an item and it is raining, the rain will be visible through all, even solid, blocks. This only seems to happen when clouds are turned off and graphics are set to fancy.

To reproduce

1. Set "Clouds" to "OFF"
2. Set "Graphics" to "Fancy"
3. Go into a cave
4. Run /weather rain
5. Pick up an item
   → The rain will be visible through blocks
