Zombie Heads pitch black, no matter the time of day

While i was making a little bee farm for myself in creative, i made a curious discovery when the sun set.

The zombies seem to have their heads completely darkened? I've only seen this on the 'classic' zombies, so no baby zombie or zombie villager seems to have this issue. 

I set the time to day, and the head issue still remained.
