Item and experience orb shadows turn completely black during pickup animation

What I expected to happen was...:
When I pick up an item / experience orb, the pickup animation plays normally.
 
What actually happened was...:
The item/orb's shadow turned black during the pickup animation (only for a few frames).
 
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Throw an item / experience orb on the ground.
2. Pick it up.
3. Item / experience orb shadow is black for a few frames.
