Items with custom name/lore can't be repaired and don't keep their custom color

I used sethbling's filter "modify item string" to add a color to a sword's name and some lore.
Back in the game, when trying to repair the item using an anvil, the repaired item can't be taken back from it's slot to your inventory and it doesn't keep its color ie it shows "4odiamond sword" from a sword wich had a red name.
