Game fails at Mojang logo

I have been experiencing this issue for the last few days. Odd because I was able to log in and play Sunday evening for an hour or so. 

I load up Mniecraft and click Play on the launcher. The Mojang loading screen gets to just before the end (see the screenshot) and sits there. The window is unresponsive. I have to go into my task manager to End Task on Java (Java version newly downloaded this evening). 

When I am returned to the launcher I receive the following error message (see screenshot). 

No crash report is generated. I don't know if it is sent to you automatically.

I saw online over the weekend there were some issues with the game, but this has been going on well past that now.

I am not sure what to do or what is wrong. 

I have played before this on the latest release with no issues at all, this has happened suddenly.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
